DOT Physicals
August 31, 2018Quick Care Med is here to help you with your DOT Physicals. To make it easier for you, we have created a short video blog to help you bring the necessary paperwork to your DOT physical, as well as what to expect when you get a DOT physical at Quick Care Med.
This video should be of particular interest to truck drivers looking to be certified with the department of transportation. As you may know, truck drivers are required to take a DOT physical every 24 months, if there are no previous health issues that need to be monitored like high blood pressure, sleep apnea, or diabetes.
Let’s discuss what you should bring into the clinic to make your experience easier. It is necessary for you to have a valid driver’s license, if applicable, eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aide, a list of medications you are on or take on a regular basis, a medical release opinion letter if you have previous medical conditions, and a waiver of exemption certificate or skills performance evaluation.
What to expect during the examination. Basically, we will review your medical history, conduct a thorough physical exam and run a urine screen to check for urine protein, urine blood, and urine sugar to check for the onset of possible disqualifying medical conditions.
If you have no detected health issues, your DOT physical can be effective for 24-months. If you have health issues, we may request to review your health every 6 to 12-months. Quick Care Med offers a convenience of being open late and on the weekends to fit your schedule. We have 10 locations located throughout Citrus, Marion, Levy and Alachua counties. All our providers are DOT certified. We look forward to helping you get back on the road!

The entire staff was very caring. I had my toddler with me and she was a bit rowdy and they gave her crayons with coloring pages and stickers and even a lollipop to help keep her occupied.
My son scribbled on a piece of paper and handed it to one of the woman in the front, saying that is say how his ears hurt, she accepted it and posted it on the artwork wall, when the PA came in to see him he was made to feel like a big deal because he had known about the paper. This is a place where the staff really cares about their patients and go the extra mile for them
Have been there a few times and hey have always been very fast, kind, courteous and welcoming. Always very helpful especially the front desk. The employee Heather helped me with pharmacy, paperwork and everything I needed help with. Only quick care I go too because of her.
I absolutely love our nurse Tiffany. She made our visit so comfortable. I had two very sick little boys who did not want to go to the Dr. She made the at ease in an instant and she took such great care of them. This was at the Quick care on 441 in Ocala Fl. I was there yesterday and I've never felt so shocked. The 3 girls I interacted with were the most pleasant and friendly caregivers I've ever dealt with.
